The Wheelchair Boot Slider is designed to make is easier for people to slide a wheelchair into the boot (or trunk) of a car. People often have difficulty getting a wheelchair into the boot of a car, and usually resort to having to lift the wheelchair.

There are expensive alternatives such as hoists and ramps, but ours is a simple, low tech. affordable product. It is important to remember that this item does not make the wheelchair weigh any less and it will not work all on it's own... it still requires an initial effort to get the weight of the wheelchair onto the lip of the car boot.

The carer leans the Boot Slider on the back of the car, so they only lift part of the weight for a about a second or two until the bottom of the Wheelchair Boot Slider 'frame' is resting on their thighs. Then most of the weight is resting on the top of the car boot opening. Once it is there, it is a case of walking forward a step and sliding the wheelchair into the boot.

Getting it out of the boot is even easier as the Wheelchair Boot Slider rests on the the lip of the boot, and the slider guides it to the ground, controlling it all the way.

No modifications are needed to the car and the Wheelchair Boot Slider is very helpful in a community setting where different volunteers use their own cars to drive people with wheelchairs.
